Brooklyn or Bust

This is how I've been spending my evenings lately:
That's right folks, the Mister and I took a big leap of faith, and we're moving to Brooklyn, NY. Given that sort of drastic change, I think you can appreciate my silence on the blog front as of late? The short of the long story, is that the Mister got a job offer at a small start up that has a very enticing risk-reward ratio. We just can't afford to pass up the opportunity. So I'll have to quit my job (boo-hoo, seriously), we'll sell our house, pack up all our stuff in storage, and then it's Brooklyn or Bust!

I still can't believe it's all happening, and how much I have to DO! Hopefully the New York adrenaline will keep me going, because despite all the hardships we'll face over the next few months, I know it will all be worth it when I can finally call NYC home.

A tisket, a tasket

and a random basket of thoughts for this Easter-time of year! First up, I made some silly goodies to take to my parents house for Easter dinner. A bird nest dessert for my munchkin of a (7!) year old niece.
I also made some Easter bread for the family, which was actually both fun and surprisingly easy. My niece Olivia LOVED to pull the eggs out from the bread, which were both raw and dyed before baking, then ended up perfectly hardboiled once the bread was finished baking. I just hope I didn't turn my niece's tongue brown from eating too many colors.
