So this weekend was a blast. First there was Boogie Fever night on Friday with the girls from Book Club to celebrate the end of the Artist's Way. Here's a few pictures of our silliness.

Everyone had a really good time, and it was really fun. I hope we do it again soon. I'm also glad I wasn't driving, and furthermore super glad that Stephanie let me crash at her place afterwards. Yippee for drunken sleepovers!Next I got up early Saturday to go to the Farmer's Market with Jay, Molly, and Sylvie, and get plants for our garden party planting at their place. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this. Probably because I was a bit too hungover to be functional yet. We had planned to go to Eastern Market but ended up just at the Ann Arbor Farmer's market instead. Which actually worked out better (especially since we know how much I LOVE the A^2 Farmer's market) since we saved a bunch of time and gas. It was a good and tiring day of clearing beds and replanting, and then I went home to take a nap with Brad and the kitties. Ahhh, naps.
Luckily, I woke up motivated on Sunday to do a little planting of my own. I've been avoiding planting the garden that I "would like," because Brad and I are still planning on selling our house sometime, so it doesn't make much sense to keep putting work and effort into major improvements. Plus I wouldn't want to leave all my handiwork behind! Anyway, I got motivated for a fairly small herb garden around our shed, and I stumbled upon Coleman's in Ypsilanti (off Michigan Ave) to get my plants. Oh how happy it made me! It's a shameless plug I know, but I'm totally shopping there from now on.
I ended up with sugar snap peas, a sweet 100 tomato plant, thyme, oregano, cilantro, basil, parsley, lavender, arugula, mint, chives, shallots, garlic onions, and a few random perennials, like lamb's ear, coral bells, foxglove, eucalyptus, and some cat grass. The garden looks pretty small (or miniature, as I like to think of it) now, but I'm sure in a few months it will all be overgrown and full of weeds. :-) I'm still debating on whether to add mulch to the garden or not.

In other random thoughts for this weekend, I've been meaning to post about this artwork idea that I finally completed. The idea came to me a while back when I had dinner at North Point in Dexter. I bought some frames, some various papers that I loved, and made a little montage. Look how awesome it is.
It came out way better than expected, and I get super happy every time I walk in the bedroom and see it. Now if only I could put them up all over the house! Speaking of that though, looks like I might be spending a lot of the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend doing home improvements, and I might finally get my cookbook shelves hung. Here's to hoping, and staying motivated.

That's a "small" garden?! :) Awesome!!!!!! Can't wait to see your sprout babies!
Also.... very much enjoy your wall montage! I am currently working on montages myself. I love montages! Yeah for montagey bedrooms.
PS Hey! You send me your pictures lady!!!! You took more than me I think. Need more drunken debauchery.
I love, love, love Eastern Market! I used live about four blocks from it, and visited every Saturday. I'm not much for the planting/buying of fresh goods/etc, but I love open markets, so if you need a pal to accompany you...
