You see, the last couple of years, there has been this protective striped bass living under the dock on Crystal Lake. Said fish would nibble your toes and was an all-around annoyance while you were in the water. Being a bit of a girly-girl about things like this, I wasn't exactly thrilled with it's arrival. At the end of last summer though, much to my delight, Uncle Bryan caught the fish! I thought all my water fears were alleviated. But like I said, this last Sunday, we were once again facing the fish. How was this possible? All we can assume is that the fish laid babies, who returned to the dock location this year, and the circle of life repeated itself. Drat.
This new fish was particularly annoying though. It literally would charge out from under the dock at you if you got within a 10 foot radius. This would not do. So later the next morning, after the guys returned from a round of golf, the Mister went down to the beach for a swim and his turn at some dock fishing. I think we were all more than surprised when he caught it!
Mister catches me a delicious bass
After the requisite cleaning and scaling of the fish, the Mister and I took it home and had ourselves a lovely supper. I won't lie and say my brain wasn't on overload thinking about the morality of what occurred the entire time I was stuffing my face, but damn, it was a tasty fish.Tasty bass w/ cholula dipping sauce
