Thank you to my ladies last night, for calming my nerves after an unexpected encounter during drinks at
Carlyle. Running into people you don't expect to see always catches you off guard, and no matter how many times you imagine potential scenarios in your head, they never turn out like you anticipate. That being said though, I can't imagine a better distraction than a night out watching vampires with my girls! We headed to
Quality 16 for the 7pm showing of
Twilight, which was pumped up like Beatlemania in the days following up to the opening. I have to say, CAUTION: spoiler alert here, the movie was absolutely horrendous. The actors were terrible, everything was after-school special cheesy, and the really good vampire fight scenes from the book were all blurry. And don't even get me started on how terrible the special effects were for the unveiling of Edward in the sunlight. Blech. I think I'll stick with the books. At least they lived up to my expectations!
It was nice to go see a movie on opening night though, in a packed theater (despite a bunch of screaming banchee 12 year olds) and once again, I ended up on the receiving end of a few random surprises! Thanks Stephles, for my new mini spork and some Thanksgiving reading material, and thanks to Kristal for the Cali magnet (several of my girls all collect magnets from places we've visited). It never ceases to amaze me how much you guys rock and how loved you make a lady feel. :'-) Smooches babes.
