Today was a busy day! It started off bright and early as I went to help Rachel celebrate her birthday by volunteering for a great cause. A group of us joined up at
Growing Hope's new headquarters on Washtenaw in Ypsilanti. The house and grounds are a work in progress, but our help was much appreciated in cleaning & organizing the garage, scraping paint off walls, removing insulation from an attic, and general renovation and re-construction projects. It was really inspiring to be a part of something so motivating, and even though I could only stay for a few hours, the progress on the work we accomplished in that time was amazing! And it was such a cool cause and so much fun, that I'm considering other volunteer opportunities with Growing Hope for next year. Since we all know helping out at Farmer's market type events is definitely my bag. I'm really glad I participated, and thanks Rachel, for being you, being awesome, and getting everyone together for an afternoon of "doing good." My soul is all filled up for the week now.
Next, after running home for a quick shower and clean up, it was off with my mister to Ann Arbor for a surprise trip. More on that one in the next week. ;-)
After getting back to Milan then, it was time to get ready for Melody's wedding! There was a time mismanagement snafu on my part, so we arrived to the reception too late and didn't get a chance to snag any appetizers, but I hear the scallops and mushrooms were fantastic! At least I got in a few quick glasses of wine at the bar before being seated for dinner.

Melody & Nat's reception was held at the Ann Arbor Women's City Club, and I have to say, I was impressed. It was classy, chic, and best of all, Melody looked gorgeous hanging out there all night!

We sat at a table with fellow book club members for dinner, and it was a good evening filled with friends and laughter. Two of my favorite things. Here's a few pictures of the festivities.

Nice to see pictures of you prior to your metamorphosis into water, Aquagirl.
Thank you again for starting your long day with us. That garage looked fantastic!
