I've also been to some really cute stores on 7th avenue, checked out Grand Plaza, the Brooklyn library, and saw a guy with a macaw on his bicycle handle bars at Prospect Park. I've eaten organic twinkies & frozen greek yogurt, drinkin' coconut water and generally just wandered around taking it all in.

Summer in the city
Greetings! From Brooklyn, where's it's so hot I've already sweat through 2 separate sets of clothes today. I'd say that's a pretty rude awakening from my new home town. :-) In other news, I'm having just a lovely time. I'm falling in love with Park Slope more and more each day, and today we even found an apartment and signed a lease! I'm not sure it's the best deal financially, and I think we could have done better both price and location-wise had I kept at it. But have I mentioned how hot it is here? I'm exhausted just thinking about walking around in the heat. So for at least a year, our new digs will do. I'll re-evaluate when my brains aren't frying like eggs on the sidewalk. I'll leave you with a picture of Manhattan from our building's roof deck though.

There's three more days left of my trip, and now that apartment hunting is out of the way, I'm ready to tackle the world. More updates later in the week on all things "life in the city."
