90New10

So I just finished watching the "new" 90210. Being a teenager of the 90's, obviously I went through a period of all things Walsh. I didn't watch religiously, and I certainly couldn't win any West Beverly trivia. But I did like the show, and was extremely skeptical about any form of "return" that would ruin an otherwise awesome show. I'll start by saying this. I think the new 90210 sucks. The acting is terrible, the story lines are bizarre-o, and the characters are entirely too PC (seriously!? A bi-racial family from Kansas moves to West Beverly to live with their rich Grandma?). And this new Brenda, "Annie" I almost can't even stand to watch as all I can picture is Heidi Montag crossed with Hannah Montana.
That being said, you know I'm hooked. Even though The Hills is the most awful program on MTV, I still get suckered in every Monday. So although you're most definitely rotting my brain, you're in (at least for a little while) new 90210. Now wow me with a scandalous Silver/Taylor divorce story, and make a guest appearance by David happen, and you may even score a few extra points.

Oh, you know you love it.

"Awful" is just the code word people are going to use to stay in the closet, and deny that they actually love it.

Well, I'm here to say that I LIKED it, and I'm only 50% ashamed to admit it! I'll be watching!

I watched maybe five minutes. I couldn't take it. And was also worried I would get hooked. I had to turn it off when Dylan, I mean "ty," wanted to take Brenda, I mean "annie," on a jet to San Fran. Whatevs!

Oh Stephanie, person who I have never met - as the 90210 aficionado (spelling?) I presume you are, you should know that Dylan would have been getting his drink on at some pool hall rather than be at West Bev during school hours. That alone makes the comparison ridiculous!

Lady Lisa clearly did not sufficiently warn you about the depth of my 90210 knowledge (we are talking about before Brandon departed the show - that was the end for me...what a dreamboat!). Trust me, this is a battle you cannot win. Plus, I'm just nerdy enough to sit on my computer and post comments on Lisa's blog all day demonstrating this knowledge.

And 90210 started in 1990, that makes me 10 when it premiered. I think (hope?!?) I was potty trained by then.

I guess we'll just have to have a 90210-off when you are here. And you will lose. :)

I've instructed Lisa to prepare a 20 question quiz. We will retreat to our neutral corners on November 15, 2008, and will see who emerges victorious. You best study up!

Does anyone feel like talking about Party of Five?

Sorry, Miss Queen, despite my love for crappy tv shows, that is one I never got into.
